Unconditional Love

“There are two means of refuge from the misery of life – music and cats.”  Albert Schweitzer  ❤️

How many among you are animal lovers? Not animal “likers”, but actual animal lovers?

Some people enjoy what they receive from animals without a thought of giving. And some people will give virtually anything while appreciating the unconditional love they receive.

My wife is one of those people in the latter category. She’s a tireless animal rescuer. Last December she rescued a paraplegic kitty she absolutely adores. We named him Scooter.

Sadly, he has fallen very ill recently and is going through an expensive temporary treatment that, tragically, we can’t afford. I’d like to appeal to the compassionate hearts of the kind people who read this blog to help me share Scooter’s fundraiser page. He’s an unbelievably smart, sweet and charismatic kitty – simply all-around amazing. A truly special furry being. Or as my wife refers to him  – “a furry Zen master”.

Due to circumstances too complex to explain, my wife and I are thousands of miles away from each other. She moved back to Bolivia (where she’s originally from) and I’m stuck in the U.S. for the time being even though there is nothing I wish more than to be with her.

(By the way, I don’t know how many of you have been following the news coming out of Bolivia lately, but a well-planned right-wing coup is currently underway. It’s appalling and insidious, but I’ll write about that another time.)

Please, if you can find it in your heart to either donate (even $5 helps) and/or share Scooter’s fundraiser page, we’d be forever grateful. Below is a link to Scooter’s gofundme page. Even if you’re unable to help, please watch the short videos:

Thank you so much.

P.S. Scooter’s fundraiser page was originally created by our friend Shannon (who’s also disabled) with the purpose of raising funds to get Scooter stem cell therapy, which we still hope to be able to do once he recovers from his current health issue.
