Bill Hicks was labeled a comedian. We are a society obsessed with labels. Everybody is something – a plumber, a teacher, an engineer, a worthless bum. Many of us seem to think that our “occupation” (interesting word) is what we are.
Not only are we not not our “occupation”, we are not our mind – that voice in our heads, but that’s the subject for another essay.
Bill Hicks was so much more than a comedian. He was an artist, a musician, a provocateur and… a philosopher.
Sometimes, he was silly. Sometimes, he was angry. Sometimes, he was sensitive and poignant.
I decided to post a video of his that I find interesting. Hopefully, those who check out this post will enjoy it.
Peace.
